چکیده
Background Hepatitis B virus DNA (HBV-DNA) assessment is recommended for diagnosing and monitoring chronic hepatitis (CHB) patients. Quantitative surface antigen (qHBsAg) estimation adjunct to HBV-DNA vital assessing HBV chronicity therapeutic prognosis. This study aimed estimate the qHBsAg compare its diagnostic performance with that of levels in CHB patients from Bangladesh. Methodology A total 148 were enrolled this study. e-antigen (HBeAg) estimated using chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassays, respectively, was quantified real-time polymerase chain reaction. The parameters performances analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results overall (mean ± SD) qHBsAg, HBV-DNA, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) among population (n = 148) 3.45 0.80 log10 IU/mL, 4.40 2.44 86.17 39.06 IU/L, respectively. Significant differences observed both (p 0.004) < 0.0001) cases HBeAg positivity. showed a weak positive correlation ALT HBeAg-positive patients, but no such relationship HBeAg-negative ROC analysis area under level distinguish high (>5 IU/mL) 0.653 0.002), which indicated an acceptable performance. best cut-off predicting 3.469 IU/mL. Conclusions Our results might be useful marker throughout treatment follow-up.

Elecsys Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Quantitative Assay: Performance Evaluation and Correlation with Hepatitis B Virus DNA during 96 Weeks of Follow-up in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients
BACKGROUND Treatment for chronic hepatitis B aims to suppress virus replication and virus sequestration in hepatocytes. Covalently closed circular (ccc) DNA is the template for transcription of viral genes and is responsible for viral persistence. However, limited data are available for quantification of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in Korea. METHODS We evaluated the Elecsys HBsAg II q...
متن کاملELISA for Quantitative Determination of Hepatitis B Virus Surface Antigen
Several studies have reported a good correlation between levels of serum hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) and covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) before and after antiviral therapy. As a result, the quantification of HBsAg levels has attracted much attention in recent years as an important approach to evaluate viral activity. In this study, mAbs against HBsAg were generated and 9 m...
متن کاملSurface protein mutations in chronic hepatitis B patients who received hepatitis B vaccine therapy
Objective (s):The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between vaccine therapy and appearance of mutations in hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) patients. Materials and Methods: 16 patients received the HBV vaccine and another 16 individuals from the control group did not. The surface gene was amplified and directly sequenced from samples...

Abstract Background and objective: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a DNA virus with high tendency toward hepatic tissue. There are currently about 3 million HBV-infected people and 350 to 400 million chronic carriers of this virus in the world. X protein plays a role in the over-expression of oncogenes, carcinogenicity of liver cells and overlaps with the basal co...
متن کاملEvaluation of miR-101 Level in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection and Liver Cirrhosis
ABSTRACT Background and Objective: MiRNAs are small RNAs that are expressed in most eukaryotes, and can regulate gene expression by attaching to the 3’ end of target mRNA. MicroRNA-101 (miR-101) post-transcriptional regulation is important for host-virus interactions. In addition, miR-101 has a tumor suppressive role in liver cancer and metastasis, an...
